The Hobbit : Desolation of Smaug
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is an upcoming 2013 epic fantasy adventure film directed by Peter Jackson. It is the second of a three-part film adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's 1937 novel The Hobbit, beginning with An Unexpected Journey (2012) and set to conclude with There and Back Again (2014). The three films together act as prequels to Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
The storyline continues the events of An Unexpected Journey, in which the hobbit Bilbo Baggins travels with the wizard Gandalf, the dwarf Thorin Oakenshield, and his company into the Kingdom of Erebor, taking them through Mirkwood, Esgaroth, and Dale to the epic combat with the dragon Smaug. Book Plot
Harvard University professor Robert Langdon wakes up in a hospital with a head wound and no memory of the last few days. His last memory is walking on the Harvard campus, but he quickly realizes that he is now in Florence. Sienna Brooks, one of the doctors tending to him, tells him he suffered a concussion from being grazed by a bullet, and had stumbled into the emergency ward. Suddenly, Vayentha, an assassin who has been following Robert, breaks into the hospital, shoots the doctor in charge of Robert's care, and approaches Robert's room. Sienna grabs Robert and they flee to her apartment.
After Sienna recounts the details of his admission to hospital, Robert finds a cylinder with a biohazard sign in his jacket and decides to call the U.S. consulate. He is told that they are searching for him and want his location. Robert gives them a location across the street from Sienna's apartment per Sienna's guidance and to avoid getting Sienna more involved in his mysterious situation than she already is. Soon, Robert sees an armed Vayentha pull up to the location Robert gave the consulate. At this point Robert believes the U.S. government wants to kill him.
Robert decides to open the container and finds a medieval bone cylinder fitted with a hi-tech projector that displays a modified version of Botticelli's Map of Hell. At the bottom of the illumination are the words "The truth can be glimpsed only through the eyes of death". Suddenly, soldiers raid Sienna's building. Sienna and Robert narrowly escape. Robert and Sienna head toward the Old City, believing the cylinder must have something to do with Dante. However, they find that Florentine police and Carabinieri officers have sealed the bridges and are searching for them. They run into a construction site near the Boboli Gardens, where Robert illuminates the modified "Map of Hell" again and observes letters have been added to the ten layers of the Malebolge, and that the layers have been rearranged. Moving them back to the order in the original Botticelli "Map of Hell" yields the words "CERCA TROVA". Robert recognizes these are the same words on the painting The Battle of Marciano by Vasari, located in the Palazzo Vecchio. Robert and Sienna manage to evade the soldiers and get into the Old City using the Vasari Corridor.
Robert stands in front of The Battle of Marciano trying to figure out where to go next by connecting the "eyes of death" phrase in the modified "Map of Hell" with his location. A custodian sees Robert snooping around and gets the director of the museum in the Palazzo Vecchio, Marta Alvarez. Marta recognizes Robert after he and Ignazio Busoni, the director of Il Duomo, had met with her the previous night. She leads Robert and Sienna up a set of stairs by The Battle of Marciano, and Robert realizes the top of the stairs is on the same level as the words "cerca trova" in the The Battle of Marciano painting. Marta tells Robert that she showed them Dante's death mask the previous night, which sits in a room down the hall from the Battle of Marciano painting. Robert realizes he is retracing his own steps from last night. Marta takes Robert and Sienna to the mask who find that it's gone. They look at security footage and see Robert himself and Ignazio stealing the mask. The museum guards turn on Robert and Sienna. At this moment, Ignazio's secretary calls Robert and tells him that he died of a heart attack, and his last words were "Paradise Canto 25". Gates of Paradise at Florence Baptistery
Robert and Sienna escape the guards, but the soldiers arrive. They cross the attic over the Apotheosis of Cosimo I, where Sienna pushes Vayentha to her death. Robert connects the phrase "Paradise 25" to the Florence Baptistry, where he and Sienna find the Dante mask along with a riddle from its current owner, a billionaire geneticist named Bertrand Zobrist. A man named Jonathan Ferris, with a large bruise on his chest which he hides from the two, claiming to be from the World Health Organization, comes and helps them escape the soldiers. They follow the riddle to Venice, where Jonathan suddenly falls unconscious. Robert is captured by the black-clad soldiers while Sienna escapes.
Robert is taken to Elizabeth Sinskey, the director-general of the WHO, and is given an explanation of what is going on: Zobrist, who committed suicide the week before, was a mad scientist and Dante fanatic who engineered a new strain of the Black Death to cleanse the world of overpopulation. Elizabeth raided Zobrist's safe deposit box, found the cylinder, and flew Robert to Florence to follow the clues. However, Robert stopped calling in after meeting with Marta and Ignazio, and the WHO feared he betrayed them and was working with Zobrist to unleash the plague. The soldiers were the WHO's SWAT team and never meant to kill Robert.
Zobrist had paid a shadowy consulting group called The Consortium to protect the cylinder until a certain date. When Elizabeth took it away, they were obligated to protect whatever the bone cylinder pointed to. They kidnapped Robert after the meeting with Marta and Ignazio, but Robert hadn't yet solved the whole riddle. They gave Robert drugs to erase his short-term memory, created a fake head wound, and staged every event up to this point so that Robert would desperately solve it. Sienna, Vayentha, and Jonathan are all actors working for The Consortium; the call to the U.S. consulate was also staged. The leader of The Consortium, having become aware of the bioterrorism plot, has agreed to cooperate with the WHO. Tomb of Enrico Dandolo, at the Hagia Sophia.
Sienna goes rogue and The Consortium realizes she was a secret supporter and lover of Zobrist. She learned where the plague is being kept after Robert solved the riddle, and resolves to unleash it by herself. Robert, the WHO, and The Consortium team up to stop her by going to the riddle's actual location: Istanbul, where Enrico Dandolo is buried. At the Hagia Sophia, Robert and the others find the plague is in the Cistern, but discover that Sienna is already there. The bag that holds the plague has been broken, infecting all the tourists inside. Sienna runs out of the Cistern screaming, which causes panic among the tourists who stampede out into the city. Inside Basilica Cistern, with water below and tourists above.
It is discovered Sienna didn't puncture the bag; it was water soluble and had dissolved one week previously in the Cistern waters, meaning that the whole world has already been infected. It is also discovered that Sienna was trying to stop the virus herself, but didn't trust the WHO because samples of the virus would certainly find their way into weapons research. The leader of The Consortium tries to escape WHO custody with help from disguised underlings, but is caught later by Turkish police. It is implied that The Consortium will be investigated and ruined. Sienna receives amnesty in exchange for working with the WHO to address the crisis, since she is a medical doctor and transhumanist writer.
The virus employs DNA modification to cause sterility in humans. The virus has no cure, and even with future technology, changing the human genome back would be hazardous. The human race, therefore, has been forced into a new age of self-understanding.

Frozen is an upcoming American 3D computer animated musical-fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen. It will be the 53rd animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The film will feature the voices of Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa the Snow Queen, and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, in speaking as well as singing roles. The film is currently scheduled to be released on November 27, 2013.Film plot Anna teams up with a mountain man named Kristoff and his reindeer companion Sven to go on a quest to find Anna's sister Elsa, the Snow Queen, who has banished herself to the mountains into a snow palace, to put an end to the eternal winter she has accidentally cursed the Arendelle kingdom to suffer.

The Smurfs 2 is an upcoming 2013 American 3D family comedy film and a sequel to the 2011 film The Smurfs. Based on The Smurfs comic book series created by the Belgian comics artist Peyo. It will be the second installment of the The Smurfs trilogy, produced by Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Columbia Pictures. The film is being directed again by Raja Gosnell, with all the main cast returning. New cast includes Christina Ricci and J. B. Smoove as members of the Naughties, and Brendan Gleeson as Patrick Winslow's stepfather. The film is set for release on July 31, 2013.The third film is scheduled to be released on July 24, 2015. This is Jonathan Winters' final film after his death on April 11, 2013.
Plot :
Gargamel creates Hackus and Vexy, a couple of evil Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties, to harness the magical Smurf essence. When he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants and that only Smurfette can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and takes her to Paris, France where the Naughties teach her to become one of them. There, with the help of the Smurf essence, Gargamel hopes to use the Eiffel Tower as an energy-generating antenna to finally return home.It is up to Papa Smurf, Brainy, Gutsy, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to New York and seek help from Patrick and Grace Winslow and their son, Blue.

The Boxtrolls
The Boxtrolls is an upcoming 2014 stop motion adventure film based on the novel Here Be Monsters! by Alan Snow. Produced by Laika, it is being directed by Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi. The film stars Ben Kingsley, Simon Pegg, Elle Fanning, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Toni Collette and Jared Harris.The film is currently scheduled to be released on September 26, 2014.
Plot
The film tells the story of an orphaned boy named Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) who was raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors called the Boxtrolls. The Boxtrolls are targeted by an evil exterminator named Archibald Snatcher (Ben Kingsley), and Eggs has to save his friends from that evil exterminator.
Production
In June 2008, Laika unveiled a slate of projects in development, among which was also an animated feature film adaptation of the Alan Snow's novel Here Be Monsters!. Animation technique not yet decided, Anthony Stacchi was set to direct the film.Laika announced on February 7, 2013, that the adaptation will be their next 3D stop motion/CGI feature under the title The Boxtrolls. Directed by Stacchi and Graham Annable, it was scheduled to be released on October 17, 2014,before it moved up in May 2013 to September 26, 2014.Focus Features will hold worldwide distribution rights to The Boxtrolls, and Universal Pictures International will release the movie overseas (with eOne Distribution handling Canada).

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The film is the sequel to the 2009 film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which was loosely based on Judi and Ron Barrett's book of the same name. The first news of the sequel came out in April 2010, when website io9 reported that the original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, won't return for the sequel.In December 2011, it was reported that Cody Cameron, the story artist on the first film, and Kris Pearn, the head of story on the first, are set to direct the sequel, with Lord and Miller serving as exec-producers. as the trailer for the much-anticipated sequel from DreamWorks
Animation became available online. The 3-D pic, which is written and
directed by Dean DeBlois and produced by Bonnie Arnold and Chris Sanders
will arrive in theaters on June 20, 2014.Based on the original series by Cressida Cowell, this second chapter
of the trilogy features the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig
Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller, Kristen Wiig and
Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who also participated in the first movie. The
original 2010 pic was a huge critical and box office hit and made $494.9

“At the end of last film, all these Vikings who were previously somewhat landlocked are now on the backs of dragons so the entire Northern Hemisphere opens up to them,” says DeBlois. “And with that Hiccup’s curiosity increases, the map expands and inevitably they are going to come across new dragons, new cultures.”
Hiccup then discovers a larger conflict brewing between humans and dragons and he finds himself at the center of it.

Warner Bros. Confirms Batman/Superman Movie for 2015
DC fans rejoiced this weekend when Man of Steel director came out on stage at Comic-Con and announced
“It’s official that we are going to make another Superman movie. I’ve poured through the DC universe for a way to tell this thing.”
Set for release in 2015, this sequel is to be directed by Zack Snyder
and written by David S. Goyer featuring two of WB/DC’s most popular
superheroes, which are in direct competition with Disney/Marvel’s
Avengers characters.
Snyder added, “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest superheroes in the world.”
Man Of Steel which is currently still playing in theaters worldwide has made over $625 million while Christopher Nolan’s rebooted Batman
trilogy has surpassed $4 billion globally. Christian Bale has already
told the press that he won’t reprise his role as the Gotham Knight, so

47 Ronin is an upcoming 2013 American fantasy action film depicting a fictional account of the forty-seven Ronin, a real-life group of samurai in 18th-century Japan who avenge the murder of their master (known as a "chūshingura" in Japan). The American studio Universal Pictures is producing the adaptation. The film is directed by Carl Erik Rinsch and stars Keanu Reeves, Rinko Kikuchi, Tadanobu Asano, Hiroyuki Sanada and an ensemble of other Japanese actors. Filming started in Budapest in March 2011; it moved to Shepperton Studios in London and will conclude in Japan. The release date was initially moved from November 21, 2012 to February 8, 2013, then again to Christmas Day 2013.
Synopsis
The outcast Kai (Reeves) joins a group of Ronin, led by Kuranosuke Oishi (Sanada), who seeks vengeance on Lord Kira (Asano) for killing their master and banishing the group. The Ronin embark on a journey whose challenges would defeat most warriors.

47 Ronin is directed by Carl Erik Rinsch based on a screenplay by Chris Morgan and Hossein Amini. While the film is based on the true story of the forty-seven Ronin, it is a fantastical take, being set "in a world of witches and giants". The studio Universal Pictures first announced the project in December 2008 with actor Keanu Reeves attached to star. Variety reported, "The film will tell a stylized version of the story, mixing fantasy elements of the sort seen in The Lord of the Rings pics, with gritty battle scenes akin to those in films such as Gladiator." Universal planned to produce the film in 2009 after finding a director.In November 2009, Universal entered talks with Rinsch to direct the film. For Rinsch, who has filmed "visual and stylish" blurbs for brands, the film is his feature film debut.
In December 2010, the studio announced that the film would be produced and released in 3D. Between March and April 2011, five Japanese actors were cast alongside Reeves: Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano, Rinko Kikuchi, Kou Shibasaki, and Jin Akanishi. According to Variety, Universal chose them to make the story more authentic instead of picking actors that would be recognizable in the United States. Universal is providing Rinsch with a production budget of $170 million despite his lack of feature film experience, which The Hollywood Reporter considered to be a "large-scale, downright risky" move. Filming began on March 14, 2011 in Budapest.Production moved to Shepperton Studios in the United Kingdom; additional filming in Japan is also planned.Reeves said that scenes are filmed first in the Japanese language to familiarize the cast, and the scenes are filmed again in the English language.The actors' costumes were designed by Penny Rose, who said, "We decided to base it on the culture and what the shapes should be., everyone's in a kimono—but we've thrown a kind of fashion twist at it. And we've made it full of color, which is quite unusual for me."
