‘Finding Nemo’ Sequel Gets Name and Release Date
Disney and Pixar announced today that the much anticipated sequel to the 2003 Oscar-winning feature Finding Nemo
will be released on Nov. 25, 2015. The new pic, which will be directed
by Andrew Stanton and feature Ellen DeGeneres reprising her role as the
friendly and forgetful blue tang fish will be titled Finding Dory.
“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” said DeGeneres. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”
Director and Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton takes audiences back to the
extraordinary underwater world created in the original film.
“There is no Dory without Ellen,” said Stanton.“She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world—not to mention our team here at Pixar. One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In Finding Dory, she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.”
Finding Dory takes place about a year after the first film,
and features returning favorites Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang, among
others. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also
welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a
very important part of Dory’s life.
Finding Nemo won the 2003 Oscar for Best Animated Feature; the
film was nominated for three additional Oscars (Best Writing, Original
Screenplay; Best Music, Original Score; Best Sound Editing). In 2008,
the American Film Institute named Finding Nemo among the top 10 greatest animated films ever made. At the time of its release, Finding Nemo
was the highest grossing G-rated movie of all time. It’s currently the
fourth highest grossing animated film worldwide. The film has more than
16 million Likes on Facebook, and Dory—with more than 24 million—is the
most Liked individual character from a Disney or Disney-Pixar film.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ to Shoot in the U.K.
Fan made poster
Lucasfilm announced on Friday that production of Star Wars: Episode VII will take place in the United Kingdom. All of the six previous live-action Star Wars movies have included U.K. production at Elstree, Shepperton, Leavesden, Ealing and Pinewood Studios.
“We’ve devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I’m thrilled that returning to the U.K. for production and utilizing the incredible talent there can be a part of that,” said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm. “Speaking from my own longstanding connection to the U.K. with films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire of the Sun and recently War Horse, it’s very exciting to be heading back.”Earlier this year, representatives from Lucasfilm met with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, in London to establish an agreement to produce Star Wars in the U.K.
“I am delighted that Star Wars is coming back to Britain. Today’s announcement that the next Star Wars film will be shot and produced in the U.K. is great news for fans and our creative industries,” Osborne said today.Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Michael Arndt and is scheduled for a 2015 release.

Blizzard’s Project Titan Reportedly Delayed Until 2016
It was a few years ago that Blizzard’s next-gen MMO, codenamed “Titan”, was leaked, at least far as its existence was concerned. Details remain unknown (only rumors so far) but Blizzard has since confirmed it by saying that there are over 100 team members working on the game, supposedly a dream team of sorts. Unfortunately for gamers who are eager to see what Blizzard can do with their next-gen MMO which will follow in the success of World of Warcraft, you’re going to have to wait until 2016 at the very earliest.
According to the folks at GamesBeat, they have learnt that Blizzard has pushed the infamous reset button on the entire project, cutting about 70 team members from the project and leaving a core team which is expected to start all over again on the game. Their source has also informed them that the game will probably see a release in 2016, instead of 2014 which supposedly was the original date according to a leaked roadmap.
Blizzard is pretty notorious when it comes to delaying the release of their games and has never been shy at revisiting the drawing board when it comes to ensuring that the quality of the game is up to their standards. The company had scrapped their console title, StarCraft: Ghost despite being years in development, and even delayed the launch of Diablo 3 as they felt that there still could be improvements made to the game, so it is not surprising to learn of this.
We’re sure many gamers are probably disappointed by this delay, especially since they’ll have to wait another 3 years at least before they see it, but at the same time why would anyone want to play a hastily designed game that was released for the sake of it, instead of a game that has been carefully nurtured over the years?
